Phishing attacks are a type of social engineering attack where a malicious actor attempts to steal user data, credentials, or financial information. There are many forms of phishing attacks you may encounter as a remote worker; many actors have developed sophisticated methods to gain access to the information they are targeting. Corporations are at high risk for these attacks because malicious threat actors hope to gain sensitive company data through unsuspecting employees. It is up to you to be cautious and familiarize yourself with how your company communicates, what security procedures are in place, and to be cautious while opening emails and websites.
