Assessing a Potential Mining Project Partner

Scope:

An inquiry report and compliance assessment were completed around a potential foreign partner in association with a mining project in Nigeria. The report found troubling inconsistencies and a lack of suitable security measures taken by the potential partner, as well as connections to controversial officials.

Results:

As part of the conclusions, the consulting firm provided insight into a plan for comprehensively vetting other potential partners. The original planned partnership was abandoned, and a different partner was found, after a satisfactory inquiry was conducted.
